evans headshotMaya Evans, Ph.D., is an education strategist focused on extending the mission of colleges and universities into new growth areas. She serves as Internal Education Consultant at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, leading online undergraduate degree completion programming. 

Previously, she was Vice President and General Manager at 2U, overseeing partnerships with Morehouse, Tufts, and Emerson. At UW–Madison, she also directed growth strategies, managed national benchmarking studies, supported noncredit program redesign, and led online student success initiatives. She has additionally guided strategic planning, accreditation, student success, and institutional research efforts at multiple institutions.

Dr. Evans earned her BA in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis and her MA and PhD in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She completed EAB’s inaugural Rising Higher Education Leaders Fellowship, serves as a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission, and was recognized with AAWCC’s “40 Under 40” award
