alemdar headshotDr. Meltem Alemdar is an accomplished educator, researcher, and visionary leader dedicated to advancing STEM education. She serves as associate director and principal research scientist at Georgia Institute of Technology’s Center for Education IntegratingScience, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC), where she has made significant contributions to K-12 STEM education. 

Her work centers on curriculum development and design-based research to enhance innovative STEM learning environments that foster engagement. 

Dr. Alemdar has served as PI, co-PI, and external evaluator on numerous NSF-funded projects over the past 15 years, focusing on engineering education, teacher networks, and STEM learning environments. Her expertise spans program evaluation, social network analysis, mixed methods, and advanced quantitative approaches. 

Passionate about expanding access to STEM, Dr. Alemdar actively engages educators, students, and communities. Her collaborative leadership has led to impactful partnerships with universities,industry, and government agencies. 

She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Policy-Research, Measurement, and Statistics from Georgia State University.
