Katherine Samford is a Principal Lecturer and Director of the Georgia Tech Language Institute, where she has worked since 2009. She leads faculty and staff in the design and delivery of academic and professional communication-focused programs that support international and multilingual learners and scholars at Georgia Tech and across the globe.
Her professional and instructional interests center on teaching communication as a strategic practice in academic and professional contexts, developing faculty through mentorship, and helping instructors adopt effective teaching practices in authentic and sustainable ways.
Katherine holds an undergraduate degree in International Studies with a concentration in Anthropology, a master’s degree in Education, a master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and is pursuing her PhD in Teaching and Learning.
Outside of her professional work, Katherine is an avid yoga practitioner and enjoys exploring new food wherever she can find it.
